Squarespace style settings not saving

Squarespace is a wonderful platform that makes it as easy as it can be to build your own website but...there is a learning curve. One of the problems you may have run into is making a style change, only to find that it reverts back. To solve the problem, you need to do things in a particular order. Otherwise, your change will not apply - despite the style settings showing it as applied!

Instructions

  1. Click the edit button in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Click the paintbrush icon in the top right corner of the screen
  3. Go into Themes, Fonts, Colors, Buttons or Forms and make your style changes
  4. Important: This is where the order is key. Do NOT press 'save' yet. Instead navigate back in the style settings until you get back to the Themes, Fonts, Colors, Buttons or Forms menu.
  5. Click 'Back'. THEN click 'Save' in the top left corner.
  6. Click 'Exit'  in the top left corner.
  7. Your style setting may briefly revert. Refresh the page before making any further changes and you'll see the correct style setting appear.
